Call for proposals for Special Issue: “AI Technology in Language Education”

Overview:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has ushered in a new era of innovation in language education, revolutionizing the way we teach and learn languages. From personalized learning paths to real-time feedback, AI is reshaping language education in diverse and exciting ways. Technology in Language Teaching and Learning invites researchers, educators, and practitioners to contribute to a special issue focusing on how students and educators can best make use of AI for language education. We welcome submissions on topics including but not limited to: 

  • Personalized Language Learning: AI-driven approaches to tailor language instruction to individual learners’ needs and abilities. 
  • Pronunciation and Speech Recognition: Innovations in AI technology for improving pronunciation, intonation, and speech fluency. 
  • Language Assessment: AI-based assessment tools, their reliability, and their role in evaluating language proficiency. 
  • Language Content Generation: AI-generated language learning materials, exercises, and content curation. 
  • Translation and Transcription: The use of AI for language translation, transcription, and its impact on language learning. 
  • Interactive Language Practice: Chatbots, virtual language partners, and other AI-driven conversational tools. 
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilizing AI to collect and analyze data on language learners’ progress and behavior. 
  • Innovative Pedagogical Approaches: New teaching methods and strategies empowered by AI. 

Submission Guidelines

Manuscript types: 

  1. Empirical Research Paper (6000-8000 words) 
  2. Discussion Paper or Theoretical Paper (4000-6000 words)

Technology in Language Teaching & Learning is an open access journal, and all articles are immediately available on publication.
